The industry has had to constantly adapt to change with the introduction of new legislation in order to increase sustainable construction practices, increase fire safety and limit environmental impact. This has driven an increased demand for new technologies to enable new developments to meet increasing technical requirements within an environment that is becoming more constrained, especially in cities.
The accelerated requirement for innovation will have trickle-down effect on all aspects of construction projects and the supply chain in order to meet more challenging planning conditions and enable the UK to meet net-zero emissions targets in how houses are built and provided with heat & energy.
The funding we have provided has been focussed on supporting continuous improvement of construction methodologies to overcome unique site-challenges that cannot be solved with existing techniques.
This is becoming an increasing problem in cities where there are many constraints under and above ground that mean a novel method of working with more advanced equipment is unavoidable.
